How can I ensure the best results and an easy release?
Success with professional molds depends on proper technique. To ensure a smooth, high-gloss finish and a reliable release, follow these industry standards:
- Temperature Control: For the best surface results, we recommend a pouring temperature between 140°F and 175°F (60°C – 80°C). Do not exceed 80°C (175°F), as higher temperatures are unnecessary for quality and can reduce the lifespan of the polymer.
- Cooling Environment: Allow candles to cool slowly at room temperature. Avoid placing hot molds in drafts, as cooling too quickly can cause "jump lines" or surface cracking.
- The Contraction Principle: These molds rely on the wax shrinking as it cools. If a candle is stubborn, placing the mold in the refrigerator for 15 minutes will help the wax contract and "pop" away from the walls.
- Surface Care: Keep the interior pristine. Never use metal tools or abrasive sponges to remove wax; scratches will cause the wax to grip the mold and ruin the finish of future candles.
What waxes are compatible with these molds?
To ensure a successful release and a professional finish, it is important to match your wax to the mold type:
- Pillar Waxes (Recommended): These molds are designed specifically for Pillar-blend waxes (Paraffin, Beeswax, or specialized Soy/Palm pillar blends). These waxes are formulated to be hard and shrink slightly as they cool, which is essential for releasing from a rigid mold.
- Avoid Container Waxes: We do not recommend using waxes designed for jars (soft container soy or paraffin). These waxes are engineered to "stick" to walls and do not shrink, which will make them nearly impossible to remove from a professional plastic mold.
- Additive Tip: If you are using a natural wax blend that feels "sticky," adding a small amount of stearic acid or a pillar-hardening additive can help improve both the shrinkage and the final surface detail.
Do you offer custom mold designs or bulk sizes?
As a direct manufacturer, we are equipped to support both independent makers and industrial-scale operations.
- Custom Designs: We have the technical expertise to create proprietary shapes. If you are looking for a unique design for your brand, please contact us to discuss development costs and minimum order quantities (MOQ).
- Bulk & Factory Orders: If you require a larger volume than what is listed on our site, we offer specialized pricing for bulk purchases and factory-scale supply needs.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting
How do I clean and store my molds?
Clean with mild soap and warm water. Ensure they are completely dry before storing. Store them flat in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight to prevent deformation.
My candle is stuck. What should I do?
Most "sticking" is caused by pouring wax too hot or not allowing it to cool completely. Try placing the mold in the refrigerator for 15–30 minutes to help the wax contract for an easier release.
Why are there "jump lines" or frosting on my candle surface?
This is usually a temperature issue related to the wax or the ambient room temperature, not the mold. Pre-heating your molds slightly before pouring can help achieve a smoother finish.
How long will a TFA Craft mold last?
With proper care and cleaning, our molds are built for industrial use and can last for hundreds of cycles.
